OVERVIEW: Onboarding Timeline

What to Expect as a New Client #

Congratulations on deciding to hire an accountant—woohoo! Before our team can dive in and get to work, we need to complete a few onboarding items. We strive to keep the process as simple and unobtrusive to your business as possible. To give you a better idea of what to expect, check out our onboarding timeline below or take a peek at this nice visual here.

Step 1: Attend a Free Consultation #

Schedule your Consultation Now

We offer a no-cost initial consultation because we believe it’s important to provide a risk-free opportunity for us to connect and learn about each other’s businesses. This ensures we are a proper fit before any fee is proposed or commitment is made. Only after understanding the specific needs of your business can we put together a tailored proposal just for you.

Step 2: Request a Quote for Services #

Submit your Quote Request Now

Our goal is to tailor our services to the needs of your business. We believe that as your business succeeds, our business has a better chance of succeeding as well. To achieve this, we have broken our services down to offer the right level of engagement without overcharging for services you don’t need, while still providing the necessary support for growth. To provide an accurate and fair quote, we will first conduct a preliminary review of your books and then offer recommendations and proposed services that align with your company’s needs.

Step 3: Review and Accept your Tailored Engagement Proposal #

Look forward to an email from your onboarding specialist with a link to your proposal

We keep things simple by offering fixed package pricing for all our services. Once our services are agreed upon, our fees are fixed and can be settled as a monthly subscription, ensuring there are no hidden surprises. To get your financial accounts up-to-date, we may need to create new accounts and audit prior months’ activities. To keep your financials healthy and current, we will tailor a recommended set of services that we believe will best support your business moving forward. You can always add or remove optional services to customize your engagement proposal as needed. For more information regarding the services we provide, please view our Salt & Main Accounting Service Catalog.

Step 4: Provide Access to Accounts and General Business Information #

Look forward to an email from your onboarding specialist with step-by-step guides and instructions

Over the next few days, we will guide you through the steps to quickly and painlessly set up your accounts with Salt & Main Accounting Co. We will ask for view-only access to your accounting software, payroll reports, bank accounts, loan accounts, point-of-sale systems, and any other relevant documentation needed. For some tasks, we may need your assistance in accepting an invitation to set up an account, signing documentation, or authorizing requests we make on your behalf.

Step 5: Kick Back & Relax While We Get Hard to Work! #

Look forward to receiving your first set of tailored monthly engagement reports from Salt & Main!

We’re going to spend the next couple of weeks getting your accounts caught up, set up, and doing whatever it takes to ensure your books are clean! After your onboarding, you will be introduced to one of our talented and trustworthy Account Managers, who will be your single point of contact for all services provided and will be available to support all of your accounting needs moving forward.
